- Four more games are confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass in May 2024.
Xbox Game Pass members can play Kona 2: Brume as part of their subscription starting today, May 7. The moody adventure game is the second title to reach Xbox Game Pass since the turn of the month.
Developed by Canadian studio Parabole, Kona 2: Brume is an adventure game set in the ’70s Québec. It is somewhat reminiscent of Stephen King’s The Mist, tasking players with getting to the bottom of a mystery surrounding a mist that has enveloped a mining village in Northern Québec.
About a week ahead of its seven-month release anniversary, Kona 2: Brume has reached Microsoft’s popular gaming subscription service. As is the case with the vast majority of Xbox Game Pass titles, this particular arrival is available to both PC and Xbox console users. Its addition to Microsoft’s ever-growing on-demand game library has been communicated a week in advance, as part of the Xbox Game Pass May 2024 Wave 1 lineup announcement.
New Xbox Game Pass Games for May 2024
Between its Metacritic Metascore of 79 and “Mostly Positive” Steam user reviews, this release appears poised to expand the selection of high-quality story-driven games on Xbox Game Pass. Kona 2: Brume may also appeal to achievement hunters, not least because it offers 39 trophies worth 1,000 Gamerscore points in total. According to crowdsourced data compiled by HowLongToBeat.com, nabbing all of the game’s achievements is a 13-hour affair.
Much like its name suggests, Kona 2: Brume is a sequel, which continues the story of Parabole’s 2017 adventure game Kona. Its predecessor already had a year-long stint on Microsoft’s subscription service ending March 2021, only to return to Xbox Game Pass back in April 2024. Playing the first entry in the series, which takes around six hours to beat, is highly recommend before delving into Kona 2: Brume.
This release is just the start of the Xbox Game Pass catalog additions for May 2024, with Microsoft previously confirming four more titles that are set to reach its on-demand game library over the course of this month. The first of those is Double Dagger Studio’s Little Kitty, Big City, an open-world action adventure scheduled to reach Xbox Game Pass as a day-one release on May 9. The critically acclaimed adventure game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons will be hot on its heels five days later, followed by Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Hauntii, which are set to hit Xbox Game Pass on the 21st and 23rd of May, respectively.
